Chaparral Firebird Baseball

Parent Meeting Agenda

Senior Firebird parents,

Baseball season is fast approaching, and as the senior parents, we have a lot of preparation for a successful year. In past years, the senior parents are responsible for many tasks including:

1. Snack bar initial cleaning/stocking and the season responsibilities include keeping it stocked and collection of money throughout the season (one to two parents)
2. Meeting with local restaurants and securing "pro bono" meals for our varsity players the night before all home games. In most cases, a parent will be required to pick up the meals, serve the meals and clean up after the meal (one to two parents)
3. Ordering, collection of money and distribution of "Firebirds gear" (shirts, hats, etc...)
4. Organizing, set up, meal determination and completion of the year-end banquet (takes about three parents)
5. Initial collection of money from all Varsity players to cover miscellaneous expenses (usually one parent collects and the dollar amount will be around $75.00)
6. Photographer for all games (Varsity) and post on web site
7. Publisher of the "Flash" (David Brossart is handling this as he did such a great job last year)
8. Organization, collection of photos, and publishing of the "year-end book" (given to each coach and player on Varsity)
9. Announcer for all home games (Doug Rose has offered but this needs to be firmed up) 10.Organization of "senior day" (with Coach Messina's approval)
11.Putting together the rosters (Varsity, JV and Freshman), gathering all contact information and keeping the list current for distribution (during the year, kids are often times moved from team to team)

I am sure I am forgetting some tasks, but these are the items that come to mind.

We really need and expect 100‰ participation from all Senior Parents. We are scheduling a Senior parent meeting for Sunday Feb 12th (after the team is picked). If you cannot make the meeting, that is OK, but be prepared for a task to be assigned to you.

Thanks for all the support.

Go Birds!
